I was horrible at blogging our summer activities so I'm going to wrap them all into one big, giant post. So here goes...in no particular order
THE CABIN

Jones Hole

Flying the kites that grandma gave the kids

Colby and Wesley (Colby's cousin) playing with their new trucks (also given by grandma) and their pirate hats

Kara soaking up the lake
RICHINS' 24TH OF JULY EXTRAVAGANZA + SLEEPOVER

Barbecue

Water kick ball

Colby playing "put the ring on the coke bottle" one of the several games Grandpa Richins invented just for this holiday event. Other games included rope bowling, a giant pin-ball machine a cake walk and...I'm sure I'm forgetting a few.

Kara fishing for her prize
PRIMARY PIONEER PARTY

Colby with is friend Dherady. I think he got beat by a girl.
MAGICIAN AT THE LIBRARY

I caught Colby and Kara holding hands while watching the magician
LIBERTY PARK

Maybe I shouldn't have let Kara drink from the fire-hydrant water fountain

TRACY AVIARY

SOCCER

Colby and his soccer team, the Sharks. This is his first year.

It's been so fun watching Colby run as fast as he can to get to the ball.
STATE FAIR
Riding one of the way overpriced, super fun fair rides
They had the cutest little section of the fair devoted to small kids. They got to pretend like they were on a farm by filling their baskets full of produce, plant seeds, dig up vegetables, ride mini tractors, brush the sheep, milk the cow, etc. After they turned in all the things they collected in their baskets, they were given play money that they got to spend on something real, like a granola bar. They loved it.
OUR GARDEN
We planted 6 tomatoe plants this year and had more tomatoes than we knew what do with. We canned 3 batches of salsa and 4 batches of marina sauce. I kinda can't even look at a tomatoe yet without wanting to puke.
We actually got corn from our corn stalks this year. They were little tiny ears, but they were yummy.
We also got to can peaches, green beans and plum sauce this year. Canning actually became addicting for a few weeks there. I wanted to can everything I could get my hands on.
PINEVIEW

4TH OF JULY

Fighting for candy during the parade

Cotton candy. I think Kara found her new favorite treat

Sirens. Loud and annoying.

Real Salt Lake game and fireworks on the 3rd. Thanks Dave!

Instead of hauling everyone to the Kaysville chuck wagon breakfast on the morning of the 4th, we decided to have one ourselves at Katrina's house with all of the Snow family. Of course the spread was magnificient.
Holy cow, that took a long time. I promise to never get this behind again.
