Happy Birthday Cameron!

Happy Birthday to the best daddy and husband in the world! Thanks for all your hard work and sacrificing time away from your family to make sure we have everything we need! We love you!!

From Kara: "I love him when he comes home from work. I like to ask him. Ask him for treats. We're going on a date. I like to play with him.Happy Birthday."

From Colby: "He lets me have icecream and I can play with friends. Late nights. Surprises with dad. Happy Birthday dad. I love you dad."

From Ty: "Ughhhhhh (loud grunt). Wowwwwwww. Uh-oh." Translation: Daddy is great. He sings and plays the guitar for me and I love it. He gives the best face and head rubs. He is an old man.

Happy Birthday Cameron

Today is Cameron's 32nd birthday. Since he doesn't like attention, I'm going to make his birthday post short and sweet.

C ourageous- Cameron will do just about anything. I once had to stop him from diving off a 30 foot ledge into a 10 foot diameter area of water. I seriously had to beg him not to do it and he still hasn't forgiven me for it.

A thletic. Cameron is pretty good at whatever he tries. He can pull a 12 mile run out of nowhere.

M usical. The longer I am married to Cameron, the more passionate he becomes about music.

E asy Going. Most people know this about him. He is one of the most laid back, chill people I have ever known. Thankfully someone in our marriage is!

R easonable. He is a man's man in that everything his does and thinks is very logical and reasonable. His actions are rarely a result of his emotions and his decisions always "make sense."

O ptomistic. He is much better at seeing things in a positive light than I am.

N on confrontational. Cameron enjoys keeping the peace. Confronting people is not worth a few bucks he might save, or feelings he might hurt.

Cameron turns 31

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAMERON!

Here are a few things about Cameron that you may not know that make him unique.

1. Cameron can multi-task quite well. He was once caught reading a book while driving to the airport. Unfortunately, he was caught by our neighbor. Our neighbor was driving with his boss to Salt Lake when his boss said, "Look, that guy is reading while he drives!" Our neighbor said, "No way," and as he looked closer, he realized it was Cameron. Busted. I choose to believe that he would no longer do such foolish things.

2. Cameron is a good musician. He can learn a brand-new song on the guitar in only a few minutes.

3. Cameron rarely complains. This is hard to relate with since it's so foreign to me, but definitely appreciated.

4. He has a goofy, unique sense of humor. He likes to keep things light and airy and gets along best with people who are always joking around.

5. He will go great distances to get a chili cheese corn dog, found only at select gas stations.

6. He will do ANYTHING for his family or a good friend. He is incredibly loyal.

7. Cameron has a gift of not worrying. He would rather spend his time doing something more worthwhile.

8. He has great perspective on life. He always seems to know what is important and what is not worth dwelling on.

9. He is very laid back, and at the same time, very passionate about a few select things. The Utah Jazz. Collective Soul. Guitar. Dogs.

I am one lucky women. Happy birthday, babe. I love you!

What the...

If anyone wonders what Cameron does on his days off, here's an example. You are looking at what you might call a home-made fire-ball shooter. You simply load the duct tape ball into the paper towel holder and pull the lighter trigger. The ball shoots out with a sizable flame behind it. Yes, he came up with this contraption on his own and was using it inside my house. And I'm sure my 3 year old now knows how to construct dangerous fire-arms. If you also want to learn how to make a ginormous water balloon launcher out of household goods, Cameron's your man.

Colby and Kara Quotes

Ty walked into Kara's room as she was getting dressed. Kara told Ty to close his eyes and Ty said, "No! Eyes! Anna!" (Anna is what Ty calls Kara-March 2011)

Ty's latest: "down-me" (at least 50 times a day. It means he wants up on his chair, down from his chair, help down the stairs, for me to pick him up, for me to put him down...), "apple-now" (means apple. He puts the word "now" at the end of almost everything), "keekoo-now" (means cookie), "donu" (sounds like donut and means candy),"no" (very emphatically and to almost everything I say), "mil" (means milk and any other liquid drink), "nee-nee" (means blankie), "daydoo" (thank-you). These are just the most popular words among his ever-growing vocabulary. He can repeat anything you tell him to repeat and he has just started combining 2 words consistently the last few weeks. If Kara really wants to be persuasive, she will follow a request or command with, "my daddy be so mad." For example, if she is trying to tell me to not touch her sleeping baby, she'll say, "Don't touch my baby, she sleeping. My daddy be so mad. Don't touch my baby." The wrath of Cameron is pretty scary so I usually obey when I hear that threat.

Kara's latest phrase of choice is "booby head." She calls Colby a booby head at least 10 times a day and "I want my daddy" was once quickly followed by, "daddy booby head." I am proud to say she has not yet labeled me a booby head.

Kara is really into tatlling lately. When I found her in the kitchen with 2 decks of cards scattered across the floor, she pointed to the mess while jabbering something that ended in "Grandpa." Poor Grandpa is getting blamed for messes now.
I heard Kara calling/whining for me and when I went to get her she said, "Colby. I mad!" with the angriest look ever. It was so hilarious to hear that come out of her mouth. (April 2008)
